ROBERT WESLEY AMICK (1879-1969) Acclaimed as a famed American artist Robert Wesley Amick was born in Canon City, Colorado, in 1879. Amick was a printmaker, teacher, painter and illustrator for Harpers, Scribners, and the American magazines. His western scenes command high prices at auction. He held a joint exhibition with Frederick Remington on 57th Street in New York City. Much of his career was spent in Old Greenwich, Connec- ticut, where he maintained a studio at 92 Shore Road. He founded the Art Society of Old Greenwich in 1927. Robert Amick passed away in 1969, age 90. |
