Art Society of Old Greenwich Directors and Advisors have pooled their ideas to guarantee that the 60 year old show will NOT be cancelled in case of rain or high winds. In 2008 and 2009, the Saturday shows were called off because of rain. We endanger the artwork and lose our audience / buyers under those conditions.

ASOG MOVES UNDER COVER. We are booked into the largest covered/enclosed space available in Old Greenwich on Saturday September 11th & Sunday 12th, 2010: the Greenwich Civic Center gymnasium, 90 Harding Road, Old Greenwich, CT.

ARTWORK DISPLAY. The artists are the stars and are asked to deliver (8 -9 AM Saturday) and hang their own works ( "S" hooks are furnished by ASOG), attend and remove them at the 5PM close of the show on Sunday. ASOG’s same black iron display stands will be set up (end to end with 90 degree angles). Artists may rent a single panel ($50) or double panels ($90) and hang as many original works as fit their space. Printed reproductions are not allowed on these stands. Sold artwork may be replaced. A folding chair is available for the artist to sit with their work if they wish.

PORTFOLIO VENDOR TABLES will still be an option at the same price ($30 for the 2 days). These must be attended by the artists who make their own sales directly. A folding chair and 8’ table will be furnished. No easels or framed or stretched canvas works allowed at these tables. No crafts or work of others. Reproductions/cards may be sold.

ASOG SALES TABLE will also be the Welcome Desk which will continue to advise, promote and handle sales for the hanging artists. The seller, buyer, art name and price will be recorded. Artists pick up checks here. ASOG never takes commission on sales.

JUDGING of artwork hung will occur on first show day.
AWARDS will be available on the afternoon of the second day.

REGISTRATION BY MAIL IN ADVANCE/ ADULT ARTISTS. The information flyer and registration forms will be mailed to members in mid-July. Entry fee and forms must be returned by mid-August. Entry cards to attach to artwork will be sent to applying artists on a first sent/first served basis until all 160 wire mesh panels are reserved. Sculpture entry and display planning is in process. Queries are answered by co-chair Gretchen Tatge 203-637-9929.

THE JUNIOR SHOW / AGES 5 - 17 will be set up on one side of the gymnasium with its usual receiving and display procedure. Queries are answered by co-chair Joanne O Hara 203-637-7613. Volunteer helpers are encouraged for advance prep, installation, clean-up.
